Show BUD Rl DECLARED NOT GUILTY BK I JURY i i A Jury composed of William Doyle, Oscar Couch, Herman Kuchler and John McCarty rendered a verdict of not guilty yesterday afternoon, in the case of tho City vs. Bud Ryan and the defendant was given his liberty lib-erty Rvan was charged with conducting a rooming house without a license The city's witnesses were L. B. Wright. " Wallace Allen. Ed Barker. Detectives H. C. Peterson. Charles Pincock and Chief of Police W. I Norton. Nor-ton. The first three witnesses testified that they had obtained rooms at the he use of which Rvan was alleged to have been the proprietor The rooms, however, they said were not rented to them by the defendant. The three officers testified that Ryan was known to them as the proprietor oi the house and had been so known for a considerable period of time. No testimony was introduced by the defense and the defendant s attorney rrgued that the guilt of the defendant had not been proven by contact or agency. Attorney tor the prosecution argued that it was not necessary to prove agency. The jury was out about 15 minutes, before returning the verdict. |
