Show RAILROAD COMPANY ENTERS IfJTO Al ICE CONTRACT The Ogden City Tee company have received the contract for furnishing all the ice used locally by the Denver & Rio Grande railroad. The contract was signed today and will go Into ef feet on January 1. Since the building of the Western Pacific, most of the fruit business that was handled out of Ogden by the Rio Grande now enters Salt Lake over that road and the supplv of Ice n-eded by the Rio Grande at present is not large enough to require the rebuilding of the big Ice-house that v. r burned last year. The Ice that is used now and that will be used dining the summer Is for the stations sta-tions and passenger cars and a few r i i terator cars. Frank Fonts, freight and passenger agent of the company, considers the arrangement with the local company a irond one, as the contraet calls for a standard quality of ice and for doily delivery as needed. The dally delivery of the Ice will save the rall-road rall-road company considerable money (hat has in past years been lost through shrinkage oo |
