The uncertainty though Is bound to be demoralising placing the business In a position to be affected af-fected by world wide fluctuations One year may be prosperous and the next one of complete prostration for the Industry, and that risk will Force the owners of factories to drive hard bargains with the beet farmers "i close down. There are years when Europe has a great surplus ot sugar and the price of the product Is ruinous ruin-ous to the industry. During such a period, America would be the dump ing ground and our home factories would be compelled to market theil output at a heavy loss in competition with the foreign article. The con sta,nt peril of this foreign Invasion would give instability to the Industry |
