Show RECENT ARRIVAL IN SALT LAKE MISSING Salt Lake. Dec. O..J. A. William-of William-of Springfield, Mo , who came here about ten days ago and bought au in terest In a grocery store, evidently with the intention of making this his home has disappeared according to S. P. Phillips of the Phillips Cash Grocery Gro-cery & Confectionery company. Mr Williams gave no intimation as to where he Intended to go and iufor malion regarding him Is sought by Mr. Phillips. When he was asked yeste?day re garding the disappearance of Mr. Will lams Mr Phillip said Mr illlams came here from Springfield, and I met him for the first time Saturday. November 2'J, when he invested some money here and arranged to beln work la the store the following Monday He culled on me on Sunday, the next day, and seemed in no mood to Change hia mind about coming to work, but I haven't seen him since that time "I made inquiries regarding pos6i ble accidents and at the police station but have been unable to find any trace of him. He patd room renl and board for a month in advance at some place on South First West street and hasn t been there since, and they haven't heard from him He ' gave checks to the landlady there and also gave me a check ana they were cashed without question. Not only that, but I inquired at Walker Bros s bank and found that he had considerable consid-erable more money on deposit theie. "Mr Williams was a well-to-do man apparently was about 40 years old rather dark, with Just a little gray about hla temples He was about five feet six Inches In height, and he told me that he was single I am m: anxious about him. but believe he will ahow up all right in time." n r, t |
