Show POTAH SEARCH IS PROVING SUCCESSFUL Field work undertaken by the United Unit-ed States geological survey in thn search of potash has heretofore been largely of an exploratory character, according to the annual report of the director recently made to Secretary Lane, but during the last year Important Im-portant principles have been established estab-lished which will be of material as-'stance as-'stance in future work. During the i a number of shallow drill holes uc-re sunk in some of the prehistoric lake basins in Nevada and California, Califor-nia, and a careful study was made cf some of these lakes.
