Show TO ORGANIZE , FORM FAIR Salt Lake, March 7. Plans are being be-ing made for a meeting in Salt Lake of tho state commissioners of tho Panama-Pacific exposition in the in-tonnountaln in-tonnountaln states to form an association asso-ciation to promote the Interests of tho intcrmountaln country in connection connec-tion with tho great fair. Prominent officials and business men will also be invited to join the organization, which will probably be made permanent, perma-nent, and it will devote its enorgies to the legitimate exploitation of the resources and opportunities offered to settlers in this region. Fred R. Reed, commissioner of immigration im-migration in Idaho and state executive execu-tive commissioner for tho Panama-Pacific Panama-Pacific exposition discussed the project proj-ect yesterday with officials of the Commercial club and Utah commissioners commis-sioners of the exposition. All agreed that it was possible for such an organization or-ganization to become a strong advertising adver-tising asset to the intermountain country, and immediate steps will doubtless be taken to call a meeting in the near future. Commissioner Reed, who has had twenty-five years of colonization experience, ex-perience, is recognized as an authority author-ity on the subject. He returned yesterday yes-terday from San Francisco, where he has been superintending the work on the construction of the Idaho state building. It will be completed in thirty days, and will be the first of the state buildings to be ready for the exposition. The governor of Idaho and other prominent officials will go to San Francisco next month and join with fair .officials and commissioners com-missioners from other states and foreign for-eign countries in a formal dedication of the Idaho building. "I hope the people of tho Intor-mountaln Intor-mountaln states will come to the realization real-ization that the Panama-Pacific exposition ex-position presents the greatest opportunity oppor-tunity this territory has ever had to advertise itself to the entire country coun-try and to the world, M said Commissioner Commis-sioner Reed yesterday. nn |
