Show MANY ENTRIES FOR ANNUAL TOURNEY New York, N; Y.. March 7. In representative rep-resentative bowlers, the annual tournament tour-nament for the four American championships cham-pionships to bo hold In Atlantic City, N. J., from April" 8 to April 29, will attract interest .from all sections of the United States and Canada. Inquiries In-quiries and requests for entry blanks received every day by Major M. W. Gage, the secretary, whoso headquarters' headquar-ters' are at 503 Fulton street, Brooklyn, Brook-lyn, N. Y indicate this. Major Gage received word from Walter Hartley, formerly a member of the Brooklyn Interstate championship champi-onship team, saying he would head a team of six men from Pasadena, Cal., to Atlantic City. Hartley is now a resident of the Sunset state. These six men will journey all the way across the American continent, to make bowling history. New Jersey bowlers report that they will be strongly represented at Atlantic City. Newark plans to send a dozen teams. Paterson is conducting conduct-ing a campaign for fifteen under the auspices of the Passiilc Country Bowling association. Hoboken will have a half dozen, New Brunswick has arranged tor five, and Trenton for as many. In Connecticut perhaps a dozen will go to tho seaside, while upper New York is a veritable hotbed for N. B. A. competitors. TJtica alone will have five teams. The situation in New York and Brooklyn is excellent. Forty-two already al-ready have made arrangements to compete. The New York Bowling association Is forming campaign committees com-mittees for the purpose of pushing the national tournament. |
