Show MRS. T. FITZGERALD FINOS HER HOME LOOTED S t , Upon her return homo 'yesterday afternoon from an- extended visit in California, .Mrs. Thomas Fitzgerald discovered that her beautiful home had been looted of valuable silver and chlnaware in the sum of about $3000. Other valuables nmounting to about $2000 were not molested, the thieves evidently not discovering them as they were concealed in an out of the way place in the house. The condition of things in the house indicated that the home had been made a rendezvous for tramps and thieves. There' were evidences that the parties guilty of the robberies robber-ies had slept in the house aud had taken the liberty to prepare and sat their meals there. Cigar and cigar-otto cigar-otto stumps were scattered about the house and empty liquor flasks Indicated Indi-cated that some drinking had been indulged in-dulged in. As was stated in. the Standard last Monday the officers were apprised of the fact that the place had been looted loot-ed on Sunday and they Immediately took steps to ascertain who the guilty guil-ty ones might be, but up to the present pres-ent time no clues leading to their identity have been found. Mrs. Fitzgerald Fitz-gerald was accompanied home by her daughter. Katherine M. .Fitzgerald. Both Mrs. Fitzgerald and her daughter will make a complete Inventory Inven-tory of the articles stolen in the course of a few days and will turn it over to the officers to aid them in their search for the culprits. They say that some clothing was taken and that many little article of no intrinsic value except as momen-toes momen-toes of the late Thomas Fitzgerald are missing. |
