The Salt Lake ball team batted Its way to a 9 to 5 victory over tho Denvor Grizzlies today to-day before a larger crowd than wit-; nessed either of the games between' tho Denver team and tho Chicago White Sox a week ago. " ' The visitors were cheered repeatedly repeat-edly as they came racing home. The drives of the Salt Lake team were all of th clean variety. Caldwell, Salt Lake's little third baseman, starred star-red with the stick for his team, netting net-ting four safe drives, one a triple. He also drew two bases on balls, making a clear 1000 per cent batting average. The visitors started the heavy work in the first inning, scoring two runs, while the crowd hold Its breath. Caldwell, first up, singled to left field and stole second. Hester was thrown out, but Huelsman sent a long drive to right for two bases, Caldwell loping home. A single by Davis scored Huelsman. French, in the f'-st inning for Denver, Den-ver, walked, but none of the succeeding succeed-ing trio at bat could get him home. The playing zigzagged from this point on to the eighth, the score in that Inning being 5 to 5. But here the heavy hitting of the Utah crowd broke up the game, three men crossing cross-ing the plate.
