WHITE DIES IS HIT OF HIS " INJURIES William White, the aged street Cleaner, who was knocked down arid1 run over by an express wagon on Washington avenue on the afternoon of April 1st, died last night at the family residence, 2737 Pacific ave nue. At the time he was Injured, he was employed at his vocation and after af-ter he was taken home, his chance of recovery were thought to be slight, owing to the fact' that he was 79 years of age. Mr. White was born at London, England," October 13, 1839. and came tO'Utah in 1878. From that time until un-til a year ago, he waB employed aB a carman by the Union Pacific railroad rail-road and he was then retired as a pensioner. He waa married to Caroline Caro-line Hod gins in 1858 and she, with the following children, survive: MrBi C. H. Emerson, Mrs. William Minor. Mrs. R. R. Weaver and Mrs. J. T. Thompson of Ogden; J. A. White of Bancroft, Idaho; Mrs. E. R. Chef- rown of Salt Lake City, and William White of Los Angeles. lie Is also survived by 19 grandchildren grandchil-dren and four great-grandchildren. The body may bo viewed this evening, eve-ning, Tuesday and Wednesday morning morn-ing at the homo and the funeral announcement an-nouncement will bo made later. |
