Show uu BOARD IS TO HAVE AN OFFICE At a special meeting of the Ogden City board of education late yesterday yester-day afternoon it was definitely clded to ereet an educational office building on the city square to cost not more than $6000. The building will be started afe soon as the city commissioners point out the ground upon which the structure can be built The board also discussed the improvements im-provements planned for the Grant school and It was unanimously decided de-cided to improve the building at a cost not to exceed $22,000 All members of the board were present pres-ent and Leslie Hodgson, the official architect, described the sketches he had submitted of the proposed build ing on the city square. According to the plans, the building build-ing will consist of one story and a basemen', which will not be entirel below the level of the ground The building more properly may bo described de-scribed as a story and a half The upper floor will consist of five rooms and a large vault wbere'n the papers and records of the board may be kept In the basement will be a large store room for books as well as other oth-er supplies used by the schools. While nothing definite was decided upon in regard to the plans of the building. It is probable that a structure struc-ture similar to the plana submitted will be built. Mr Hodgson, the architect. Is now working on the plans for the Grant school and the remodeling will begin at the close of the school vear The hot air heating system will be replaced re-placed by a modern steam svstem; new plumbing will be installed and rooms will be added to care tor the increased number of school children lu that district. The board members were surprised to learn today that, according to a I morning paper. the had ordered the Lorin Farr school closed to be fumigated fumi-gated when no such decision had been reached. After reading the report of Sam-tarv Sam-tarv Inspector C-orc- Shorn u. r.-lat -ing to the number of cases of 111-... 111-... among school children, the board decided to have the Lorln Farr school fumigated and cleaned after the close of school tins evening and the building build-ing will remain closed until Monday, giving the fumcf of the formaldehyde a good opportunity to get at the germs.
