Through Its president and secretary, the Pocatello Poca-tello Water Users' association bas forwarded for-warded to Governor Haines and the Bannock county delegation a vigorous protest against the proposed compromise com-promise with California regarding the alfalfa quarantine, whereby this county, coun-ty, with Bear Lake and Oneida, is to remain under the ban It is claimed by the associat ion, as well as the Fort Hall association, that no weevil exist in this county The only weevil ever found in southeastern south-eastern Idaho were discovered in Bear Lake county. This was some time ago. and no weevil have been found since. In 1012 this county had 25.551 acres in alfalfa, produclne 72.- tons. As (he acreage this year will be practically prac-tically doubled, the growers believe j that the quarantine will unjustly crip-I crip-I pie the agricultural development of I the county. |
