Show oo SAPS PROJECTS ARE IN DEPLORABLE STATE Boise, Feb. 27 That Carey act lands and Carey act projects In th. southern part of this state need the direct and immediate attention of Idaho, and are in a deplorable condition, condi-tion, was made clear to the twelfth legislature here today through a report re-port submitted throusrh the state affairs af-fairs committee, following an Investigation Inves-tigation of the Carey act department The state affairs committee filed with the house a report BeCUred from Carei Act Commissioner Shawhan, Showing that the state stands to lose 250,000 acres of land within Oare act' projects because the promoting companies of the projects have sol I all of the water, leaving none for the b lanK na in numerous Instances In-stances have not built canals to the land. The report slso shows that several Carev act project-; In this stale are on the verge of ruin and some of them are even now bankrupt, while some arc in the hands of the receiver, thai settlers have been Induced to settle on the land by the company ' promoters, who guarantee to them thai the state and government stood ! financially behind the projects and thai they stood to make thousands of dollars: that todav some of th. protects pro-tects are without water, and those settlers who resided on them were forced to leave their entries and their Improvements and were financially ru:ned.
