HEAVY RAILS FOR NEW ROAD METAL FOR BAM BERGERS RAILWAY ON WAY HERE eighty five pound rails ordered which Is significant in view of burlington invasion from tuesdays standard the rails to be used on the salt lake and railway have all been contracted for and the first consignment of the heavy steel rails to be ased ou the road were loaded sunday at the colorado fuel and iron companas comp anys yards at pueblo colo and are now on their way est instead of the rond being built ot 70 pound rails as was at first announced noun ced 85 pound rails are to be faed which by many in view of the announcement no that the burlington is to invade utah territory is considered a significant fact the announcement of the change n the weight of the rails to be used was made yesterday in his office in salt lake by simon bamberger president and general manager of the road who had just returned from a trip to colorado where be placed orders tor tons of 85 pound teel the amount which the engineers ot th road figured would be sufficient 0 o equip the road the contract calls tor the immediate delivery of a part of the contract and the steel must be all delivered before september 1 of next year it was also announced by president bamberger that the laying of this new abeel would be commenced at center valle and continued on toward this city the 60 pound rails put down last spring between salt balse and to be allowed to remain in place until the later deliveries are received by many the decision to use the 83 pound rails Is considered to be significant aart air bamberger was as ked by a representative of a salt lake paper it it did not mean that the burlington road would come into ogden and salt lake over his line in reply mr bamberger said that the road was not for sale to anybody and that it was th intention of the company to make it the finest interurban road in the country but that it someone wanted to pay tb price the company would ash it might be bought
