Show TO GIVE A CONCERT opera house has been secured for 9 night next week As announced in this paper a week ago the ogden tabernacle choir is to give a concert in the grand opera house the coming week it Is now an assured fact that the irrigation ode written by john J mcclellan Mc CleIlan and which aroused such enthusiasm in portland will be given in ogden next wednesday night yesterday evening late after working the whole day to change the date of a play in the opera house cort and grant managers of the house informed the tabernacle choir that they had succeeded in arranging matters so that the house could bo given gratuitously for this great event the opera house management is to bo commended for this act of generosity tor it must mean a financial loss to switch plays to other towns as was done in this instance the matter was presented before the choir at last nights rehearsal and much appreciated by all the members present the singing of the ode to irrigation in ogden was left in doubt until yesterday owing to the fact that miss emma lucy gates the great utah soprano was to be in new york before the ode could be sung in ogden it can now be said with authority that ilas gates will remain long enough to appear in ogden next wednesday night portland was wildly enthusiastic over the ode and it isa matter of congratulation that ft will be rendered in ogden by this magnificent body ot singers and miss gates |
