CHANGES ON RIO GRANDE the sail lake herald says work on iho addition lo 10 tho ahapa and on an addition to tte power plant in the rio grande yards is going on extensive improvements aro to bo made with a stew outbuilding building ot now cars and equipping the road this winter wilh rolling stock not only to supply its own needs on this end but to handle the western pacific traffic this work is just a small part of what is planned for later on the extent ot abo improvements is bo great that the problem of getting men promises to be of importance salt lake Is to bo the eastern supply point tor western pacific construction and from this city hundreds ot thousands of tons of material and machinery as well as supplies are to be shipped during the progress of the work the western pacific I 1 B as has been stated to be rushed from this end on to th sierras tho heavy rock and tunnel work in those mountains necessitates this haste to do this work it is necessary to get much material and supplies dally and is the main reason for tho rio grande shop and yard work which is now beginning
