PLANS A ROAD FROM OGDEN TO SIOUX CITY his energy may make ogden the greatest city in intermountain country from fridays standard simon bamberger president 0 the salt lake and ogden railway is in the city and this afternoon will inspect the route of the new line from washington avenue toward tho mouth of the canyon in company with chief engineer vail and some of the contractors who are considering bidding on the work he said that he understood that everything was in shape so that within a few days lids tor tho grading of the road to the mouth of the canyon could be asked for but that he could not state definitely until he had consulted with mr vail when the bids would be asked for while sir bamberger is in the city n meeting of the directors of the ogden canyon resort company willbe held and at the meeting the revised plans for the buildings to be erected on tho grounds will be considered and f accepted work on at least three of ithe cottages to be built will bo commenced at once this part of the work is in charge of director angus wryght who said that it the plans submitted by architect i smith were adopted sites for the cottages would be selected and three cottages one each of the different styles that had been drawn would be built this fall as models tho heavy rails that have been or j dered from the colorado fuel and i iron company will not begin to arrive for over thirty days yet and until they arrive the smaller rails will be used on tho road into layton it be 1 ang necessary to use the lighter rails in order to run the work trains As to the point at which the road will enter the city mr bamberger calil that nothing had been decided but that it would be some distance south of thirtieth street there is a well confirmed rumor to the effect that mr bamberger has obtained the old surveys of the pacific short line and backed by a strong syndicate he Is ready to build through ogden canyon the first section of a road that is to be pushed on to sioux city nebraska the movement is in no way connected with the chicago northwestern or burlington but is taken up as an independent road making a connecting link between missouri cointa and ogden miles shorter than the union pacific i route and favored by natural resources capable of development far superior to the country traversed by any line from nebraska to utah j simon Bam bergers resourcefulness is destined to make ogden a city sec 1 ond to none in the intermountain it his plans materialize region arthuree Art hurtE livingstone left this after noon en limited no 2 for new enri alty philadelphia and asi mr livingstone win romallia romal nia ton te about ten days and ithen to this point and stay until the return sah of october and then start tor S cisco sailing cwm there for on alie honolulu and the orient via one of the pacific mall boats
