CAUGHT PICKING POCKET A description of a man named T J was telephoned the local po lica wednesday night and so exact was the description that when the man was brought into the station last night by Officer herrick who had arrested him on another charge sergeant chambers recognized the man at once and asked him if he were not the man who was wanted in salt lake tor beating a board lill the man admitted that he was the man wanted and the salt lake officers were notified ot the arrest according to the story of some men who bad witnessed mhd incident was in a lower twenty fifth street saloon drinking with a frenchman who was much ih worse for liquor after taking several rounds of drinks the former induced the frenchman to go over to the railroad depot and from the depot pilo lefi the man down the railroad tracks and was in the act of rifling the drunken mans pocket when herrick appeared the scene herrick placed under arrest and as the frenchman had a ticket to san francisco and had airland who promised to look out for him he was not detained as it would be difficult to hold chaie on a criminal charge he is being held at the station on the technical charge of vagrancy for the salt lake officers
