Show CHILDREN IN A CANTATA IN THIRDTOD The people of the Third ward were well entertained last evening from 7 o'clock until midnight, with a Christmas Christ-mas cantata and a dance. The cantatn. entitled "The Night Berore Christmas ln Toyland," com menccd at 7 o'clock and was given by the members of the Religion class. It included the following program: Prayer, Frank Horspool. Scene 1 Recitation, Laura James. Lullaby. Lerue Evans and Angle Lowther. Scene 2, part 1 Jollv Old Saint 2, part 2 Girls' lullabv; recitation. reci-tation. Ruth Barnes. Scene 3 Prayer, Marcella Dinsdalc The meeting house was prettily decorated dec-orated for the cantata with a Christmas Christ-mas tree as the center of attraction, and at the close or tho program each member or the class was given a! Christmas present by tho teachers A bag of candy and nuts was given each one present I The dancing party commenced at 9 ' o'clock and about 250 persons were present This parly was given under the auspices of the ward amusement committee and Its success assures them of good patronago for future events. A program of twenty-two popular pop-ular dance numbers was civen each guest and the best of dauce music was rumished by Salter's orchestra, who also responded to an encore for each number. Among the dances rinding rind-ing etjpeclal ravor were the Tag two-step, two-step, Spanish waltz and Buffalo glide The Bon Ton will be added to the reg ular ward program ln the near ruture. Tho committee has arranged for a children's party on Christmas arter-noon arter-noon and a grand ball in the evening for tho grownups. The committeemen are Alonzo West, chairman; John Mumford.
