Now York, Dec 21 All the vexed questions relating to collogo athletics will como up for their regular solution solu-tion in this city on December 27, when the National Collegiate Athletic Athlet-ic association will hold its seventh nnnual convention After routino matters are out of thc way at the morning session thc chief item of Interest will be nJdress-es nJdress-es by Professor William Dudley of Vanderbilt university and Dr George L Mcvlnn of Columbia Professor Dudlcv's talk will bo on "The Proper Control of College Athletics. and Dr Meylan will spoak on "Athletic Training" Thc afternoon session will include reports of the committee on credentials, creden-tials, tho treasurer and the district representatives. Thc committees on football rules, basket ball, track and soccer will make their reports' also tho committee on football fatalities o 1912, the committee to formulate a statement concerning amateurism j anions college athletes, and the committee com-mittee on affiliation of the I C A A ' and I A A G A with the N C A A Paul Withlngton of Harvard Is chairman of this last named committee, com-mittee, and as this proposed affiliation affili-ation Is a subject of moment his '0-port '0-port will be of considerable inter-est inter-est Part oi the association's business will be the appointment of committees commit-tees on football, track and basket ball rules Everj j car the association goes through tho formality of appointing Its members of tho football legislit-ing legislit-ing body, they getting together lator with thc indopendont members of the football nilcs committee Tho convention con-vention will close with a general discussion dis-cussion of topics having to do with collcec sports. |
