Show -oo TO PROVIDE GOOD HOMES Los Angeles' Plan For Reducing Suffering and Poverty Sacramento. Cal., Dec 21 Articles of Incorporation of the Municipal Housing association of Los Angeles, capitalized at $500,000, were approved today by Secretary of State Jordan and a certificate Issued. The organization organi-zation was conceived by thirty-four private citizens of Los Angeles for the purpose of reducing suffering and po erty in slums and poorer quarters of the southern California metropolis Among tho incorporators named are Meyer Lissnes, former chairman of the Republican state central committee; commit-tee; A J. Wallace, lieutenant governor gover-nor of California, and Lewis H Works, a son of United States Senator J. D. Works. The articles of Incorporation state the object of the corporation to be as follows: To prevent the existence of slums in Los Angeles by providing for tho poorer class of the population lov-cost, lov-cost, sanitary habitations for rent or sale upon moderate term, with returns of not more than C por cent and the accumulation of such surplus funds as will Insure final stability and permanent per-manent operation on a large scale |
