Show THE HARRIS PARTY. Ono of the most beautiful of this season's largo parties was given at tho Hermitage last Tuesday evening by Mr. and Mrs. William H. Harris. The hotol and grounds were beauti-, beauti-, fully decorated with dozens of Japan-ece Japan-ece lanterns, wind bells and the wild clematis vine, with its feathery blossom, blos-som, making an exquisite setting for tho handsomely gowned ladles who were prosent The Orpheum orchestra rendered a fine musical program and dainty refreshments re-freshments were served. The many friends of Miss Marian Nye will be pleased to learn of her marriage to Mr. Earl Bradford Hales of Rlversido, Utah, which took place in the Salt Iake temple Wednesday, Wed-nesday, September 30, Apostle Anthon H. Lund officiating. Miss Nye has made her home In Ogden for the last four yoarg, during which time sho has made many friends bere. After spending a pleasant visit with relatives rela-tives In Ogden, Mr. and Mrs Hales left Friday evening for Riverside, Utah, where they will make their future fu-ture home. A reception and dance was given In honor of the happy couple cou-ple by their many friends in Riverside River-side last evening. Mr. and Mrs Hale3 havo many relatives and a host of friends in Ogden, who extend their best wishes for a bright and happy future. FOR EARL PARDOE. Mr. T. Earl Pardee, one of Ogden's best known and most popular young men, was a guest of honor Saturday ovenlng at a well attended dancing party given in the Fifth ward amusement amuse-ment hall, under the auspices of the Mutual Improvement Stake board of the Weber Stake. During the evening the Imperial Quartette rendered several selections in a most pleasing manner. Mr Gerard Klomp favored those present with a comic recitation entitled en-titled "The Dog nnd the Crab." Joseph Williams created considerable consider-able merriment with an Impromptu address full of satirical humor, using as his text several Incidents, real and otherwise, in the llfo of his departing friend, the guest of honor. Mr. Pardoe was then called for and in his Inimitable way explained tho causes of the Incidents mentioned by Mr WllllamB. Ho said further that he did .not want to leave his frionds In a sorrowful sorrow-ful manner, but that he would leave with a big smile and a happy heart, because that was his nature. In a more serious vein, he told of the value of true friendship and how ho appreciated the evening's manifestations. manifes-tations.
