Show SMALL BOYS ON A WILD' ESCAPADE 4 According to information in tho hands of the sheriff aria his deputies, a band of boys, ranging in age from 7 years to 12, aro endeavoring to be desperadoes and, up to 'this tlmo, they have baffled the efforls of the officers offi-cers to capture them.' Two of tho boys are named Hllan.-' One gives the name of Smith and another tho name of Dec. the first names not being known to the officers. The Dee boy Ib in tho-city but the others aro somewhere In Ogden canyon can-yon wth a horae and buggy from Wilson, which they stole from the Tabernacle square yesterday. The Deo boy says he ,was with the other boys when they stole the rig but that he did not go, out of town with them. He says tho other boys have been sleeping In, a laundry wagon for a number of .nights past and that they wero inj.the habit of stealing. He claims to havo taken no part in the stcalingjpf tho horeo and buggy. , - It has been learned through the day that a snall store alonSktho canyon ro'ad, was 6nnfred last Evening anda" few articles of food and candy taken. A building near the bowery at the Hermitage, was also broken Into last night and thefts committed. The officers of-ficers worked on tho case until midnight, mid-night, thinking the boys would bo seen somewhero In the canyon, or that tho horso and buggy would bo found in some barn alonp the road. This morning's Inquiry revealed nothing noth-ing of their whereabouts, but shortly short-ly after the noon hour It was reported thnt the boys with tho rig nad been seen near Huntsville and that they had been sent home Two deputies have been dispatched along tho canyon can-yon road to apprehend the llttlo fellows fel-lows and bring them in. Whether the boys are guilty of all the thefts committed last night Is not known, but suspicion points at them. |
