Show JOHN burton; PSANEER, DIES Salt Lake, July 7. John Burton, one of Salt Lake's "best known and most popular pioneers, passed to his final rest yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S B. Hamer. 960 South Eighth East street !Mr. Burton was in the seventy-ninth year of his ago, and while the approximate cause of his demise was stated as heart failure, he had, six months ago, suffered a general breakdown break-down Induced by the weight of his yeara. John Burton had been a resident of Salt Lake City for nearly slxtv years, coming here with his parents" In tho fall of 1852 He was a native of Westmoreland, England, and was born November 6, 1832. His parents Joined Join-ed the Mormon church and with them ho came to America in 184S. They settled in Council Bluffs, la., whero they resided until their emigration to Utah. Mrs. Burton died a number of yearB ago. |
