Show WHITE HOUSE IS "UCHELOR HALL" WASHINGTON. July 6 The Whits House for the rest of the summer Is to be a sort of bachelor's hall, for President Taft does not intend to spend alone in the big mansion the hot days that congress requires him to stay here. On his return from Indianapolis the president found the White House deserted de-serted and so quiet that he immediately immedi-ately asked Secretary Hllles and Maj A. W. Butt to move in and join him. Mr. Hilles' family is down on Long Island and Maj. Butt is unmarried, so arrangements were easily made. They have practically the entire White House at their disposal and will not only sleep there, but expect also to dine there In more or less state when the president's duties keep him in town. oo |
