Under the search and seizure provision' of' tho now liquor law enacted bxrthq'nast legislature, the county sheriff? offlco Monday afternoon made lta first confiscation con-fiscation Several place have been nnder surveillance by tho offuclalu since the new law went Into effect and a complaint waa Issued Monday morning by the county attorney's office of-fice against John Graham, proprietor of what is known as the Cottage inn on South State street, about a anllo and a half north of Murray. Tho official!; have secured information informa-tion that liquor has been sold to various vari-ous parties at tho so-called inn, which has no license but has been doing do-ing 'business illegally. An automobile full of various liquors li-quors and beers and other articles which make up the necessaries of such a place were contlscated from the sheriffs office and brougut to tho city. Among the things seized were thirty-five bottles of Budwelser beer, one bottle creme de menthe, two and a half bottlos of Maraschino cherries, one-fourth bottle of port wine, sixteen six-teen empty 'boor bottles, ono empty whisky bottle, one bottle ot Scotch whisky, one-half bottle of whisky, six beer glasses, thirteen whisky glasses, two cocktail glasses, two lemonade glasses, one napkin and one tray. County Attorney I. E. Willie declares de-clares that the officials have a good caso against Graham. Tho matter will be heard before Justice of the Peace Harry S. Harper. .nn |
