H Cooper, employed in the Chrlstenson tailor shop, believes he has won the right to challenge any long-dlstanco sprinter in the city lor championship honors. Cooper ran from tho cornor of Jefferson avenue and Twonty-fourth street to the Sanitarium on a wager that he could make the dtstanco in twenty-five minutes. He passed the Sanitarium with three minutes to spare. Ho is now roady to wager any amount that ho can make the samo run In seventeen minutes. Cooper Coop-er wns not In training when he maae his first sprint and feels sure that with a few evenings of practice he can cut down his time to the Sanitarium Sani-tarium from five to eight mlnutos In 'his challenge Cooper offers to meet any runner In Ogden In a race to Tho Hermitage or in a Marathon race in tho direction of Salt Lake City, over roads which are more level. |
