Show BLOW ON HEAD RESOITSJ OEATH BUTTE. Mont, March 7 As a result re-sult of the death early this morning of John Campbell, woll known citizen of Anaconda, of injuries received in a quarrel with Richard Deo, Northern Pacific ngent at Silver Bow, seven miles west of Butte, Dee was arrested 011 a train this foronoon by Sheriff John O'Rourko, a deputy and County Attorney Frank Walker. Campbell was struck on the head ulth a scale height, fracturing his skull. Warden Frank Conley, who hurried to Butld to aid Deo in securing secur-ing bull, states that the striking of Campbell was more in the nature of an accident than of any intent to do Campbell Injury, and that Dee is Innocent In-nocent of any intentional wrong doing do-ing The affair occurred Saturday but nothing wus said of tho trouble until Campbell's condition becumo serious. The affair had its outgrowth It is said, In the fact that Campbell had been drinking heavily and had assaulted as-saulted Dee. Coroner Lawlor of Anaconda decided de-cided to hold an inquest, but as tho tiouble occurred in Silver Bow county, coun-ty, the Butte officers will bo left to conduct whatever prosecution may result. |
