The Town has churches of all principal denominations, and in addition to Masonic, Eastern East-ern Star, Odd Fellows, Kebekahs, and other fraternal lodges, has a lai'te membership in the Elk's lodge- The hotel's and dining rooms of the town are and have been for many years past, drawing draw-ing cards for the traveling man-Headquarters man-Headquarters for the mining man, sheep and cattle men, wool buyers and transients of all kinds. The development of the Milford Mil-ford Valley and adjoining county coun-ty has been diversified, and the industries and financial interest of the town and adjoining territory terri-tory are varied. The town and entire county can never be in financial distress or quiet, because when the mining industry and market is below normal, the railroad pay-roll still goes on, and when the farm season is over and crops are harvested, the mining pay-roll continues the year round, and when the price of farm products are somewhat lower than might b'e anticipated, the. price of dairy products and live-stock continue to hold the ! country stable. ! Milford is the center of a large j : niining district, chiefly lead and j silver, with some gold and cop-j cop-j pur; it is the divisional point of the Union Pacific system in , southern Utah, with a large payroll distributed among the train crews, shop men, section hands and railroad officials; it is the center of a large and remunerative re-munerative sheep and live-stock j industry; its farms are productive produc-tive with alfalfa seed and hay crops predominating, and with several thousand acres under a gravity w'-ater system, and sev-' eral thousand acres within the pumping belt, .connected with electric el-ectric power for pumping. The town offers much in social manner, with recognized church lodge and school facilities and activities. No town in the western west-ern part of the United States has a more progressive class of citizen, a more tolerant and broadminded people, liberal in civic spirit, neighborly and sympathetic sym-pathetic in social contact, and an earnest desire to grow and expand ex-pand in a substantial and permanent per-manent way. The Milford Lions club extends to the world an invitation in-vitation to come, to see and to believe.
