Show THEY DOOD IT' About as speedy service as we've ever run into was handed Milford by the Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph Co. Last week Mr. Richard Alston, county manager, advised us that material had been ordered for a new circuit to Beaver. Last Sunday the circuit was completed com-pleted and in operation. A fortnight ago Mr. Bickmore. 'district manager for the utility, ran into a "hornet's nest" when he met with a group of Milford" 'phone subscribers who were very much dissatisfied with the toll service. A check of facilities, which showed that existing facilities were woefully woe-fully inadequate, followed, and a few days later the Denver office ordered a new line installed. Th? search began for equipment. The necessary technical apparatus was found in Chicago, and shipped here by air express. Last Friday work began, and Sunday evening it was completed. We are informed that Mr. Bickmore Bick-more is still "working" on the matter mat-ter of carrier hookup over A. T. & T. wires at Milford, which wouild give us direct Salt Lake and Los I Angeles toll service. Along with the other Milford 'phone subscribers, we thank Mr. Alston and Mr. Bickmore for the speed with which they obtained for us partial relief from the jammed long distance lines, and we add an advance word of appreciation for the direct service, when it is arranged. |
