Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kuchen-niuister Kuchen-niuister returned homo Sunday from a visit in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Yither and daughter N'aomia are leaving soon for Salt Lake City to make their home. Mrs. W. G. White, Mrs. A. L-Weho L-Weho and Mrs. J. A. Raines spent the nfternoon of July 4th picnic-iti picnic-iti at Hanging rock. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hardy and small son left Wednesday for Minersville, where they will spend tho rest of the summer. Gertrude Dewey is assisting Miss Hannora llutohins intheTel-lurido intheTel-lurido office in the absence of Mrs. Vena II. Wilson. Mrs. Clark Kesler and small daughter arrived Tuesday morning morn-ing from Blackfoot, Idaho, to visit her folks, the James Patterson family. Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Burns and children have returned from Pasadena, where Mr. Burns received re-ceived medical treatment for an injured leg. Mrs. Harold Sautter arrived Friday morning from Salt Lake City for a few days visit with friends- Mrs. Sautter . formerly lived in South Milford. Roy Cottrell went to Salt Lake City Monday to join car men from other points on the Union Pacific system in a study of the new air-conditioning of coaches used in the passenger service on this road. o Miss Lois Williams, daughter of Editor and Mrs. David S. Williams, Wil-liams, returned Tuesday from a months vi:,it in Salt, Like City and Cohevi.Ie, Wyoming. Mrs. R- H. Snyder and children returned Wedne.ay to their home in Hunting-ton Park, California. They have bec-n staying with Mrs. Snyder's mother, Mrs. W. W. Cook, since the death of Mr. Cook. Mrs. C. G. Newhart of Huntington Hunt-ington Park, California, is visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Lang, and other relatives and friends. She was accompanied hero by Ernest McGee also of Huntington Park. George 0. Brophy of Omaha, special repreaentatiev of the department de-partment of public relations for the Union Pacific system, was a Milford visitor the first of the week and enjoyed meeting quite a number of local business men. Mrs. Ella Sanborn and daughter June are here from California for a visit with local relatives and friends. Mrs. Sanborn is a sister of Attorneys Sam and Harold Cline and joined the Sam Cline and George Jefferson families in several days outing at Puffers lake. Mrs. Vena H. Wilson and sister, I Miss Sophronia Hawley of Los j Angeles left Saturday for a trip to Lorenz, Iowa, expecting to have a family reunion of the brothers and sisters nine in all. They have not been together for several years and it has been 12 years since Mrs. Wilson visited the old home town. Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Decker returned Tuesday from Versailles, Missouri, where they had been called by a serious accident in which Mr. Decker's mother fell and broke her hip. She was resting rest-ing as comfortably as possible in a hospital when they left there on Sunday. The Deckers were away for 16 days. Mrs. J. P. Adams and granddaughter, grand-daughter, Miss Virgilia Galnouer, were Milford visitors last weekend, week-end, Mrs. Adams having come to Milford to attend to some business matters. Both are former residents resi-dents of Milford, Mrs. Adams having hav-ing taken a prominent part in civic affairs here while Mr. Adams Ad-ams was roadmaster here. Goates' of Salt Lake visited at the Fred Levi home on their way to California Cali-fornia for a few weeks vacation. Mrs. Goates will be remembered as Miss Phylis Levi. j - t Milford lost a league baseball! game to Minersviile Sunday at that place but our good baseball reporter, Tommy James than whom there aren't many that are better slipped up on furnishing us with the the box score. Mr- and Mrs. A. E. Smith, formerly for-merly of Milford but now residents resi-dents of Salt Lake, passed through Milford Friday on No. 7, enroute to Venice, California, called there by the sudden death of Mr. Smith's father, also a former resident of Milford. His mother has been very ill for several months but the father's death was very unexpected and a severe shock to them. Mrs. H. L. Hall, daughter Lyn-nae Lyn-nae and son Junior, arrived Saturday Sat-urday from Long Beach to spend the summer here with Mr. Hall, who is engaged in driving water wells on the winter range lands in this particular section. Jake Hol-liger, Hol-liger, also of Long Beach and a very special friend of Miss Lyn-nae, Lyn-nae, arrived some time ago to be associated with Mr. Hall in his work. Mrs. J. M. Hughes entertained a number of friends at a birthday party last Friday afternoon. Bridge was played with Mrs. M. P. Lewis receiving high score prize and Mrs. James Lang consolation con-solation prize. Among those present pre-sent were Mesdames James Lang, Antone Johnson, George Moore, M. P. Lewis, J. D. Johnston, M. H. Pool, J. C. Smith, Willard Nichols, William Morris, W. 0. Carlson, George Fernley, Lamar Outzen, Rudolph Nielsen and Arthur Clark. f |
