Show r Liquor On Sale At Package Agency Whiskies, wines and gin went on sale legally in Milford Monday night for the first time since pre-prohibition pre-prohibition days, when Pratt Root stocked the south shelves of the Milford Confectionery with a fine array of fancy brands and bottles and prepared to do business as Milford's first and only package liquor agency under the state control con-trol setup. A similar agency has been established in Beaver and most of the other towns of the state, with only the more populous popu-lous centers getting the state stores, with manager, clerk and stenographer. In the case of package pack-age agencies, as in Milford and Beaver, the party designated as such is allowed $50 a month for handling tlTe business for the state liquor control commission. Before making a liquor purchase pur-chase it is necessary to secure a permit (at 50c per). These are on sale at the agency but must be reneved each year. For each sale of liquor there must be made out a separate order blank with the liuuor to be ordered by code number num-ber from a price list that lies on the counter, rather than from the name or brand of liquor desired. |
