Show CEDAR MAN FACED WITH SERIOUS CHARGE Last Sunday afternoon, Sheriff Frank Haycock was informed that a car containing some young men from Cedar City had been in Panguitch and that one of the young men had taken Alice Myers riding, and hail assaulted her, on the road just about the old Parley Ipson farm, now owned own-ed by James T. Daly, Jr. The girl is said to have made an excuse to get out of the car, saying she wanted a drink of water, and after trying to persuade her to get back in the car and failing to do so, he followed her a short distance, threw part of her wearing apparel out of the car I and drove away. The girl was picked up by James T. Daly, Jr., who brought her to town and at once got in touch with the sheriff, who got in touch with the officers at Cedar City, who held one man named Dow Watson until Sheriff. Haycock went over there and brought him back to Pan- guitch, where a charge of rape was ; brought against him. The prelimin-' prelimin-' ary hearing was set for the 14th of August and he was placed under $500 bonds, which he furnished. Garfield County News, Panguitch. |
