Show As far as . our county and city are concerned our officers of the law are trying to live up to the requirement of enforcing the law and our justices of the peace, in the case of first offenders, of-fenders, and the higher courts when persistent violations occur, re meting met-ing out appropriate punishment. Yet violations and petty offenses are get-geting get-geting more frequent in our city and county. Therefore, in order to do our share towards the efforts of sheriffs, marshals, prosecuting attorneys, justices jus-tices and judges toward having the law obeyed, we will from now on publish pub-lish the names of all violators,, including in-cluding everybody who is arrested for drunkenness, possession, manufacture or sale of intoxicating beverages. We wanted to put this system of publishing publish-ing the names of violators into effect before, but in several cases when we had secured the names, mothers of young people arrested for drunkenness drunken-ness came to us with the plea not to expose their children to ridicule and shame, punishing the parents more the the thoughtless kids. So far, out of pity for the mothers and families fami-lies we have desisted from publishing names. We are not going to do it any longer. Every boy arrested for drunkenness will have his name in the paper. If the boys fear of being branded in the public eye as drunkards drunk-ards will keep them away from booze, we will be delighted to know that we made our humble contribution towards making law abiding citizens out of these boys.
