Show FIND NEW ORE BODY IN" SEVIER COUNTY In order to look over some calite they had found last year northeast of Glenwood, and to see whether there could not be a larger body of it located, lo-cated, Ernest C. Christiansen, Heber Wilson and Parley Outzen made a prospecting tour Friday. They did not find the larger calite deposit, but near and in a northeasterly direction from the Glenwood cetemtery, in a place called Indian creek canyon, a large body of zinc-lead-silver ore was found. The surface showings disclose rich ore, and E. F. B. Daube, mining engineer and geologist who is surveying this country, after examining exam-ining the samples, stated that they have a much better surface showing than that which lead to developing the claims of the Salina Lead-Zinc company at Redmond. It would not be necessary, in his opinion, to go as deep as in Redmond to reach the ore body proper. The formation is the same as that found in Redmond and belongs to the large mineralized zone extending from about Manti in the north to Monroe in the south. The locators expect to do some development de-velopment work this season. Reaper, Richfield. |
