Show Interest Growing In Washington County Oil Developments While Escalante Explorations, Inc. is waiting for the cement to set in its well on the Bloomington dome, near St. George1, in Washington county, Utah, so that the well may be brought in and a test for commercial production made, two other companies compan-ies are carrying on work aggressively in three other teats in the vicinity. Arrowhead Petroleum corporation is drilling two tests. One is on the Punch Bowl dome about 3 1-2 miles northeast of the Bloomington dome and the other is on the Antelope anticline, anti-cline, situated about 14 miles northeast north-east on the Punch Bowl dome, in Arizona, Ari-zona, about 3 miles across the Utah-Arizona Utah-Arizona state line. The Virgin Dome Oil company, drilling the Harisburg dome, located about 4 1-2 miles northeast of the Punch Bowl, is reported to be in a saturated oil sand at a depth of approximately ap-proximately 3,000 feet and an attempt at-tempt now is being made to effect a water shutoff. With such widespread development develop-ment underway the eyes of Utah oil men are focused on Washington county and the Escalante well, which if brought in as a commercial producer, pro-ducer, will go a long way toward proving the field, according to oil geologists. |
