Show ARIZONA TO STAGE A BUFFALO HUNT The; last series of the famous Buffalo Buf-falo hunts of the early west is. being staged yearly in Houserock valley, just over the Utah line, by the state of Arizona. This state owns ona of the few remaining herds of native na-tive bisons. All license dealers in the state were askea by the warden to report as soon as possible the numbers and names of all persons who purchased hunting and fishing licenses between January 1 and February 2. The numbers and names will be placed in a large container and February Feb-ruary 10 eight numbers and eight al-tenate al-tenate numbers will be drawn. ' The names of the persons holding license numbers will go on the one-day one-day hunt, which iwill be supervised by the commission. Joyner said each hunter will he alloweid to keep 100 pounds of "meat and the head of the animal. The hides will be turned over to the state and sold, the money going into the Arizona fish and game fund. The . buffalo herd numbers 94 head, with the exception of 1931, the annual hunt has been held for several years with 10 animals being killed. The commission specified in its order that only eight animals be killed this year. |
