Show NEW M. E. PASTOR TAKES UPJUTIES The Milford Methodist Epicopal church after having been, without a pastor sincel last September has se-cued se-cued the services of Rev. S. Dallas McNeil as its minister. Mr. McNeil is a native of Idaho and his parents are Mr. and Mrs. McNeil, of Boise. After receiving his A. B. Degree at Gooding college he entered the Iliff Graduate School of Theology in Denver, and at the close of three years' study he had earned the degrees of Master of Theology and Bachelor of Divinity. His fourth year in the seminary was speiit in meeting the residence requirements for the degree of Doctor of Theology which he expects to receive in June upon, completion of his thesis in Milford. Mil-ford. During the four year period as a student in the seminary, Mr. McNeil Mc-Neil spent his week-ends: as pastor of of the M. E. church in Pierce, Colorado. Col-orado. This pastorate was marked particularly by success with the young ipeople, many of whom were students ,of the Colorado Teachers' College and the Colorado Agricultural Agricultur-al College. In a talk at he reception given in his honor last Thursday night 'in, Milford, Mr. McNeil gave three major ma-jor objectives toward which he dei-sires dei-sires the congregation to work. First a broader and deeper fellowship on the part of all those who are in any way associated with the church; s'-cond, s'-cond, more secure intellectual religious relig-ious convictions which may be harmonized har-monized with the best thinking of the day; third, realization of the immeasurable im-measurable valuesi of worship and to make the church more efficient in realizing these .values. Mr. McNeiL jstates that he is aware of the presence of other religious groups in Milford and that it is possible pos-sible for each to make its contribution contribu-tion to the community without detracting de-tracting from the effectiveness of the other. n |
