Show High School Notes .Milford Tigers Sharpen Claws and Get Going The Milford tigers grew a new set of claws and went at things hammer and tongs during the last game here and, as a result, brought home the bacon from the Fillmore-Milford game. Coach Mel Heslington must have told the boys that it was time they pounded somebody's ears down, so they just went out and did it. Last Friday night the Milford players met Fillmore and when the end of the game rolled around Fillmore Fill-more was on the little end of a 3 5-11 count. Ken (Brig) Weston was the outstanding out-standing star of the game, making twenty; points and otherwise discouraging discour-aging the boys on the other team. During the half certain members of the school strutted their stuff by giving us an exciting ball game on roller-skates. It was full of thrills spills, and desperate fighting. Parent-Teacher Meeting Held The Parent-Teacher association held their monthly meeting in the auditorium of the high school building build-ing Monday night, January 11, 1932. Principal Moody of the Beaver High school was the speaker of the evening. even-ing. He gave an interesting talk on the purpose of education. A musical program was given under the direction direc-tion of Mr. Hand. It consisted of a saxophone solo by Jack Hanlon, a vocal solo by Ethel Hearn; vocal solo by Verneice Smith; a trio by Leuella Bird, Rosabel Jones .and Ethel Hearn. The parents and teachers discussed discuss-ed the problem of, night school for adult education. Nothing definite was agreed upon. Miss Woodside 111 Mis9 Woodside, Home Economics teacher at Milford High school is able to be at school again after an illness of several days. We are very -glad that she has improved enough -to be with us. MHfora Basketeers Getting Into Shape for Tilt With Hinckley Milford's second league game is scheduled to start off with a bang next Saturday night, January 16, when the Milford Tigers meet the Hinckley players at the Milford gym. Coach Heslington is not looking for an easy game. The game with Hinckley will be a hard fought affair. If you want to see a grand and glorious battle be at the Milford High school gymnasium Saturday night, January 16 at 8 o'clock. Admission Ad-mission will be 3 5c. Girls Club Presented Unique Program The girls club program given in assembly Tuesday, January 12 was cleverly announced by Luella Bird and Maxine Kirk who were dressed as pages. The two girls appeared from opposite sides of the stage and gave in unison the- numbers on the program. Julia Hendrickson gave a piano solo, Marjorie Thompson furnished furn-ished a clever monologue in which she illustrated the art of makeup and the art of acting and dancing. Everyone enjoyed the program, but wished it had been longer. |
