Show LICENSE APPLICANTS DECREASE THIS YEAR ALL OVER THE STATE An accurate check on records for Milford and vicinity show that applications appli-cations for license plates for cars are twenty five per cent lower at present than a year ago this same date, ac-rording ac-rording to L. G. Clay, motor vehicle inspector. So far this year, 108 persons have applied for car licenses while at this period last year 143 had applied. Comparing Com-paring these figures with the number num-ber of cars being driven, there is a considerable drop noted in the number of persons getting their licenses early. Inability or reluctance to pay the license li-cense tax is not a local condition, however, how-ever, as a statement was issued from the office of the secretary of state last week to the effect that the number of applicants for plates up to the present is six thousand behind that of last year. The state office as well as the local office is preparing for a last minute rush and urging drivers to get their licenses as soon as possible so as to avoid the delay and annoyance that results from making late applications. |
