Show I RUNAWAY BOY CONFESSES CAUSE OF FIRE AT LUND FLEES BECAUSE OF FEAR OF DISCOVERY With the arrest Tuesday of a runaway run-away lad in Provo, the mystery of the Lund roundhouse fire was cleared clear-ed up. The boy, fourteen years of age, coniessea mat ne started tne fire by dropping matches on some oil-soaked waste near the roundhouse, that when the resultant blaze got beyond be-yond his control, he ran away from the scene in fear. The boy is named Harvey Hasland and is the son of a section laborer at Lund. He was out in the evening looking for some stroyed cows and in looking about the railroad property started the blaze. He became excited excit-ed and did I not report the fire when there was a chance to put it out. With the thought that it would be found out that it was he who caused the fire, he boarded an oil train two or three days later and eventually ended up in Provo. |
