Show GUARANTEE RAISED FOR TEACHERS' PAY Again the women of Milford have demonstrated that when they set their minds to accomplish a thing for the betterment of Milford in a civic, educational or progressive way they never fail in their attempt. When the teachers of the Milford school agreed to continue schools for the additional two weeks to complete the term, a guarantee of $500 was given them to remunerate them for their services. At tho mass meeting held at the school building on April 22, a committee was appointed to raise the amount guaranteed the teachers of the Milford schools. This committee was composed mostly of women at least the few men on the committee are willing to give the credit for most of the work done by the committee to the ladies and as a result before the closing date of the schools, the $500 had either been collected col-lected or pledged. This was a wonderful achievement, considering the present stringent conditions con-ditions .every member of the committee com-mittee deserves praise for the untiring untir-ing effort they put forth and the successful suc-cessful culmination of their work. The committee was composed of Mrs. Sadie Litchfield, Mrs. C. L. Ford, Mrs. W. F. Vincent, Mrs. Joe Hanlon, Mrs. Itha Kinney, Mrs. B. F. Hutchins, Mrs. I. L. Kelly, Mrs. John Coffcen, Mrs. Wilson Moore, Mrs. Val Yepsen, Mrs. Jay Jeffers, Lamar Out-zen, Out-zen, H. M. Hearn, E. L. Smith and O. F. Hubbell. |
