Show Preparing to Fight Floods at Boulder Dam Hoping to protect roads and completed com-pleted projects at Hoover dam, workmen work-men employed by Six Companies, Inc., are now preparing for the big flood of the Colorado in May and June. Because 40-foot snowdrifts cover the watershed of the Colorado above the dam site, oldtimers expect the river to depart on a great rampage of destruction when the spring thaws begin. Low bridges near the dam may be washed away, and workings at the diversion tunnels may be damaged dam-aged unless advance precautions are taken. Completion of the huge dam is expected ex-pected to ward off danger in the future, fu-ture, but considerable damage is feared fear-ed this year. |
