Show BEETS HIS OWN RECORD; RAISES 24 BU. SEEDS A. R. Hutson went over his chaff and threshed it over again, to catch what had been missed on the first passing through the machine. He brought his total to 120 bu. off the five acres, or 2 4 bu. to the acre! This beats his own record, and comes up fully to the higest ever published in the valley. Hutson claims it is all in the handling hand-ling of the crop; be sparing with the water. He has seen seed grown in Idaho among the best growers in the district; he has raised it himself; he has grown it also in Iowa, so that he feels experienced. And little use of water is the whole secret. The best portion of this seed was never watered wat-ered in the entire season, and the other protion only twice. This is grown in the Sutherland District, four and a halt miles northwest of Delta. We congratulate the grower. It makes a record of which we are very proud indeed. Hutson is also a firm believer in cows, and will land a carload of graded animals here possibly this fall. He has been an ardent supporter sup-porter of the milk pail, and knows its benefits to a community. You will note further, he operates a small acreage. It tells itself an editor doesn't have to. |
