' Irish Landmark Gone. The famous temple of liberty, on of Ulster's best-known landmarks, was burned to the ground the other morning. morn-ing. Erected at Toornebridge, on the County Londonderry side of tho Hiver Hann, by the late Kev. John Carey, some CO years ago. it had a romantic history. Its founder was a remarkable remark-able man, possessed of considerable wealth. lie was a descendant of a Cromwellian family, and had been arrested ar-rested and tried for murder, but was unanimously acquitted by the Jury, whereupon he erected the building in question.
