Show Republican and Democrat Dem-ocrat Conventions Both the republican and democrat demo-crat county conventions were held at Fillmore last Saturday and a large delegation from the West side was in attendance. At the repulican convention the following ticket was placed in the held: Representative, T. Clark Cal-lister, Cal-lister, Fillmore. 4-year term county commissioner, commis-sioner, Wra. Thompson, Scipio. 2-year term county commissioner, commis-sioner, Marcus Scheem, Oasis. Clerk, R. T. Ashby, Fillmore. Sheriff, Lorin I. Taylor, Delta. Treasurer, C. II. Day, Fillmore. Fill-more. Attorney, Noble Peterson, Scipio. Assessor, E. F. Bishop, Delta. Surveyor, T. George Theobald, Hinckley. The convention elected -Atty. Higgins of Fillmore to fill the position of Chairman of the county central committee for the coming year. The convention of the republicans repub-licans for the selection of a candidate cand-idate for this district, which comprises Juab, Millard and Beaver counties, will be held in Delta next Saturday. The democrats placed in nomination nom-ination for county offices the following. Representative, Frank Pratt Hinckley. 4-year term commissioner, Carl Brown, Scipio. 2-year term commissioner, H. E. Maxfield, Delta. Clerk, Fred Tack, Fillmore. Recorder, Mrs. Harry Pitts, Fillmore. Treasurer, Maurice Lambert, Fillmore. Sheriff, D. S. Dorrity, Fillmore. Fill-more. Attorney, Grover Giles, Fillmore. Fill-more. Surveyor, T. Geo. Theobald, Hinckley. Assessor, Nels Peterson, Des-eret. Des-eret. Both tickets contain good material ma-terial for office and a number of the candidates on each of the tickets are now holding county offices. They are; R. T. Ashby, C. H. Day, H. E. Maxfield, Mrs. Pitts and D. S. Dorrity. Now that the conventions have put their candidates in the field and the die is cast, things politically had ought to warm up pretty preceptably. |
