Show Delta Co. vs. Settlers Sheriff Dorrity and Co. Attorney Attorn-ey King, have been in Delta most of this week serving papers on and forclosing mortgages against pesornal property of some of our North Tract settlers who have met with misfortune. On the 19th Albert Watts, Geo. W. Minter and Tom Dibbs, were arraigned on the charge of the frandulent disposal of property pro-perty under chattel morgage in favor of the Delta Land & Water Wa-ter Co. All the other chattels under mortgage were siezed by the company and will be dispased of at public sale at Ward's Livery born on Oct. 5th. Date of the preliminary hearing hear-ing on the charge of frandulent disposal of property will be fixed as soon as the settlers' attorney can arrive and be consulted. Attorney Evans of Salt Lake will appear for defendants and Co. Atty. King will have the prosicution in charge. The above case arrises from the disposal of hogs and other property which is claimed by the prosecution to have been under chattel mortgage to them. The penalty, in case of conviction, convic-tion, is six months in the county jail or a fine of three times the value of the property disposed of. |
