Show Graduates As Second Lieutenant George Almon Robison, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Albert Robison, Robi-son, former residents of Hinckley, was graduated on May 23 as second sec-ond lieutenant, and received his silver wings. He is a former student stu-dent of the BAC at Cedar City. Lt. Blaine Sampson has been promoted pro-moted to Captain. He is in Lee, Virginia, taking schooling in the Ordnance Division. Jim Kelly, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kelly, arrived home Sunday morning for a two weeks furlough. Pvt. Willard Anderson has been home visiting with his father, Mr. Peter Anderseon. He also visited " with his mother, who was up from California on business. . ( Doyle Shields, son of Mr. and Mrs. Romulus Shields of the North Tract, is home on furlough; Doyle is stationed at Fort Sill, Okla. Miles David BakeT, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Baker of Delta, has completed his flight training at the Army Air Force Pilot School of Luke Field, Arizona; he was graduated May 23, and received the Army Air Corps silver wings and a commission as second lieutenant lieu-tenant in the Army Air Corps Reserve Re-serve He received his pre-flight training at Santa Ana Army Air Base, Cal., and pilot training with Army Flying Units at Morton Air Academy, Blythe, Cal., and Minter Field, Bakersfield, Cal. He attended attend-ed high school at Delta, and Westminster West-minster College at Salt Lake City. Lt. Keith Melville has been visiting visit-ing in Delta; he is stationed in Nebraska, Ne-braska, and has been on furlough. Cpl. Bruce Bliss writes that he is now in Corsica; that when he was in Italy he saw the ruins of Pom-pei, Pom-pei, had visited war-torn Napes, and that he had seen actual eruptions erup-tions of Mt. Vesuvius. Paul R. Fitzgerald, 24, husband of Naomi Fitzgerald, Delta, Utah, is receiving his initial naval instructions instr-uctions at the US Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, 111. His boot training consists of instruction in seamanship, military drill, and in general naval procedure. During this period a series of aptitude tests will be taken to determine whether he will be assigned to a . nnvjl service school or to immed- LJactive duty at sea. |
