Show Lt. Joseph Tippetts Is Missing Over Europe Vas Co-Pilot on B-24 in Raid over Italy. Lt. Joseph M. Tippetts, 22, son ot Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Tippetts, was reported missing in action by the War Department in a telegram that arrived here Sunday evening. He was the co-pilot of a B-24 bomber bom-ber at the time, and had been stationed sta-tioned in Italy prior to the action in which he was lost. Lt. Tippetts was born in Lovell, Wyoming, in 1922 and moved here with his parents in 1924. He was a graduate of the Delta High in 1341 and took up CAP training at Spanish Fork with the Spanish Fork Flying Service. On May 10th, 1942 he joined the Army and went into glider training. He later took up piloting a bomber and recevied further training in that division until un-til he was sent across. The family is awaiting further word from the War Department, and hoping that he will be reported report-ed as found or as a prisoner of war. |
