Show SUTHERLAND . . . Tanneta Sorenson : Kirrha!l Johansen returned to Salt Lake City after visiting here a faw 1 days with his children. Mrs. Milo Mortensen entertained Sunday afternoon in honor of the 7th birthdav of her daughter Caro-l.vn. Caro-l.vn. Rex, Lamond and Jay Bunker were called to Salt Lake City by the death of their father, Clrfton T. Bunker. Huqh Johansen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Moroni Johansen, former residents resi-dents of Sutherland, was killed in Belgium on Dec. 22. The Primary officers and teach-eres teach-eres entertained their partners and the bishopric at a party held in the Relief Societv hall. Miss Betty Grace Barney is spending spend-ing the week in Salt Lake City attending at-tending the Farm Security Convention Con-vention being held in the New-house New-house Hotel. Heber Tippetts left Thursday for Springville to get his wife, who has been convalescing theire for the past week. Every home in Sutherland will be visited for a contribution to the Red Cross on either Thursday, Friday Fri-day or Saturday forenoon. A group of ladies met at the home of Helen Fowles on Monday evening eve-ning to organize a club. A prize was given to the one who submitted submit-ted the best name for it, and it was won by Maria Jensen with the "Farmerettes." The club will meet every two ' weeks. A consolation prize was won by Dean Anderson. The members are Heen Fowles, Grace Fowles, Maria Jensen, Jelora Perkins, Dean Anderson, Sarah Fowles, and Wanda Johansen. A party will be held Monday evening eve-ning in Sutherland in honor of Leonard Le-onard Adams who is leaving next week for induction into the Service. Ser-vice. Also any man who is here on rurlough or is leaving soon to them a cordial invitation is given. A program will be fo lowed by a dance. Everyone is invited. |
